Henry County Schools is pleased to provide students with a variety of summer learning opportunities. There are opportunities in Fine Arts, Pre-AP, STEM, and World Languages. Please see the information below regarding each camp. Sliders will be in place on the HCS website, and a campus messenger will be sent out to families as well. Additional information is forthcoming.

Registration Opens April 15, 2024 at 8:00am!
- Registration is open to currently enrolled Henry County School Students.
- Space is limited. Registration will be first come, first served. Individual camp descriptions will be updated when all slots have been filled.
- Pre-Registration is required and there will be no onsite registration available.
- All registration fees will be paid through My School Bucks.
- Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
- All campers must provide their own transportation to and from the camps. No transportation will be provided.
- In observance of Juneteenth, there will be no camps offered the week of June 17th, 2024.

Get Ready for AP and Science Summer Academy: Henry County Schools is sponsoring a one-week Get Ready for AP and Science Summer Academy serving rising 9th–10th grade students who are enrolled or considering enrolling in Advanced Placement courses. This opportunity increases the exploration of, access to, and outcomes in advanced coursework through a focus on student skill development and scientific thinking. The experience allows students to develop important skills for academic success by engaging in authentic learning experiences driven by critical thinking, problem-solving, analyzing sources, inquiry, academic reading, and scholarly writing.

Orchestra: Orchestra Enrichment Camp: This two-week, ½ day summer program’s goal is to provide rising 6th, 7th and 8th grade orchestra students with an opportunity for acceleration. The curriculum for rising 6th graders will solely focus on music reading and notation, with an introduction to the instruments in an orchestra. The curriculum for rising 7th and 8th graders will focus on refining techniques, sight-reading and musical interpretation, helping young musicians become more proficient in their instruments. 7th and 8th grade Students will need to bring their instruments with them for this camp. String basses and cellos will be available upon request.

STEM Summer Camp Registration has CLOSED.
STEM Camp: Dive into the Depths of Discovery at the Henry County Schools Undersea World STEM Camp! Students will embark on an aquatic adventure exploring Engineering, Computer Science, Agricultural Science, Biotechnology, Health/PE and Science/Technology. During this one-week camp rising 3rd through 8th graders will prepare to navigate through uncharted waters and tackle real-world challenges using the engineering design and inquiry process. As underwater pioneers, students will actively interact with cutting-edge robotics materials, delve into the secrets of coding, conduct captivating investigations, and dive deep into data analysis.

Fine Arts: Henry Creates - Fine Arts Camp: This two-week summer program's goal is to provide rising 6-8 grade students interested in art, dance, music, and theater arts programs with a highly engaging educational opportunity. The curriculum will introduce kids to specialized arts standards programming geared toward students with little to no experience, with the goal of engaging students in standards and skills that will prepare them for success in middle school fine arts programs.

World Languages: Henry is Global Spanish & French Camp: This eight day summer program's goal is to provide rising 6-8 grade students interested in Spanish and French studies with a highly engaging educational opportunity focused on language acquisition and cultures. The curriculum will introduce students to the specialized World Languages standards of Communication, Cultures, Connections, Comparisons, and Communities. Instruction and experiences will be geared toward students with little to no experience, with the goal of engaging students in standards and skills that will prepare them for success in middle and high school World Language programs.
