  • Beginning with action taken on Feb. 20, 2024, the Henry County Board of Education is currently undertaking a search for the long-term permanent Superintendent of the eighth-largest school district in the state of Georgia. The hiring of a Superintendent is a key responsibility of the Board, who is committed to following a comprehensive process that aligns with Georgia law while keeping the community informed along the way.

    During the Henry County Board of Education meeting on August 12, Board Chair Sophe Pope provided an update to the community during the Study Session.

  • August 6, 2024

    The Henry County Board of Education approved the appointment of Dr. John Pace III as the new Superintendent of Henry County Schools at a special called board meeting on Aug. 6.

    Tuesday’s unanimous vote followed the 14-day waiting period required by Georgia law. Dr. Pace will begin his official duties as the new Superintendent of Henry County Schools on Tuesday, Sept. 3. His appointment followed a thorough and extensive search process that began in February.
