Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Laura Watts, Assistant Principal

My name is Laura Watts and I am thrilled to be able to continue my leadership journey in Henry County.

I was born and raised in Florida (panhandle) and am a die-hard Gator fan (don’t hold that against me 😊).  I attended the University of Florida where I received my Bachelor’s degree in Education.  I have also received my Master’s degree in Special Education from Brenau University. I have obtained my Tier 1 Certification in Educational Leadership from the University of West Georgia and am currently working towards my Tier 2 Certification/Specialist degree.

I have been married for 25 years to Aaron and have two boys: Grayson is 23 and graduated from GGC with a Bachelors degree in Chemistry; Easton is 20 and is earning a Welding Technology degree at Lanier Tech.  We live on a 7-acre farm where we have bees, chickens, pigs (at times), two dogs (Bentley and Cash), one furry cat (Chewy), and two hairless cats-Sphynx Bambinos (Lieutenant Dan and Miles Finch). In my spare time, I love to play tennis, fish, and build puzzles.

Prior to joining Henry County, I was the assistant principal at Sims Academy and Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy (BASA) in Winder, GA. I look forward to building strong relationships with the staff, students, parents, and community stakeholders.

Please feel free to contact me at laura.watts@henry.k12.ga.us if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Laura Watts
