Dr. George Johnson Jr. is the Work-Based Learning Coordinator and Co-Chair of the Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education Department (CTAE) at the Academy for Advanced Studies (AAS) in McDonough, Georgia. He has taught Accounting, Entrepreneurship, Financial Literacy, Introduction to Business, and Legal Environment of Businesses courses to 9-12 grade students. His educational career spans 20 years.
Dr. Johnson received his Bachelor of Science in Social Science and Master of Science in Adult Education from Troy State University. He earned a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership and Supervision with a focus in Recruitment and Retention from Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, Georgia. He holds a Business Education Certification (State of Georgia).
His educational philosophy is “they are reachable.” Dr. Johnson currently serves as Advisor to the Associate Board of Directors & Associate Ambassadors for the Academy For Advanced Studies.
The Associate Board of Directors & Ambassadors are a group of elected and volunteer students working together with an adult advisor within the framework of a constitution or bylaws to provide a means for student expression and assistance in school affairs and activities, give opportunities for student experience in leadership and encourage student / faculty / community relations. If chosen, you will be VOICE, LEADERSHIP, AND REPRESENTATIVE OF YOUR HOME SCHOOL!
Through projects and activities, Associate Board of Directors work to:

The Associate Board of Directors are the building leaders who work with an adult advisor to collaborate with others to impact their school culture, school community, which impacts their city or town, which can impact our state, which impacts our country, which changes the world.
Dr. Johnson's passion for teaching and developing students has earned him and his students numerous awards. Dr. Johnson was Teacher of the Year (2023) and Trainer of the Month (August 2022). As the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Advisor, his chapter earned the Best Chapter - Region 9 in the state of Georgia and FBLA Chapter with the highest achievement awards (FBLA Regional Leadership Conference, 2023). Additionally, his FBLA students won numerous district level awards.
