Welcome to Mr. Collett's World History Page
I want to take this opportunity to happily welcome you to the Academy of Advanced Studies for the exploration of World History. My goal is to give you a deeper understanding of the intricacies of World History while also helping to make better connections to the modern world. In doing so, I hope to further develop your critical thinking skills by stressing the following: INFER, INDUCE, DEDUCE, EVALUATE, ANALYZE.
The high school world history course provides students with a comprehensive, intensive study of major events and themes in world history. Students begin with a study of the earliest civilizations worldwide and continue to examine major developments and themes in all regions of the world. The course culminates in a study of change and continuity and globalization at the beginning of the 21st century.
I find history an absolute joy to study, and I hope to share this enjoyment with you by the end of our semester's journey through the ever-expanding rivers of history.
The specifics of what will be covered for that specific week are shown in detail in the syllabus HERE
