WHAT IS WORK-BASED LEARNING AT THE
ACADEMY FOR ADVANCED STUDIES?
Work-Based Learning placements represent the pinnacle of the Career-Related Education experience. It is a structured program that connects the associate's/student's classroom learning and career plan with a productive work environment experience. This school-based program allows associates to earn academic credit for their part-time job.
Work-Based Learning is an opportunity to truly apply what the associate has learned through a related program of study, in REAL-WORLD settings. There are several opportunities for associates to participate in Work-Based Learning. These include Cooperative Education, Internship, Youth Apprenticeship, Employability Skill Development, and Clinical Experiences.
WORK-BASED LEARNING is a partnership between schools, businesses, and community members as it aims to prepare high school students/associates with knowledge and training that will assist in producing a skilled workforce.
