PHILOSOPHY STATEMENT
Woodland High School’s Counseling Department believes that each student:
- Benefits holistically when they take ownership of their learning and actions.
- Has the right to access a comprehensive school counseling program that facilitates their academic, college and career, and social-emotional development.
- Has the opportunity to express their individual needs and goals with a student-centered, compassionate, professional school counselor.
- Needs a safe, caring environment in which to learn.
Our comprehensive school counseling program will:
- Actively provide school counselors who lead, advocate, collaborate and purposefully plan programming that empowers critical thinking, problem solving and competent citizenship.
- Promote opportunities for school counselors to be visible and accessible to all students and stakeholders.
- Be developed, monitored, and evaluated based on data, the school improvement plan, and specified goals.
