    Club Description:

Open to AP Human Geography Students and former GUNA Participants All students taking AP Human Geography are encouraged to participate in the Model United Nations held in Atlanta, Georgia. Students not only learn the importance of the United Nations through Assembly led by students from across the state of Georgia, they also have the opportunity to begin the process of building life experiences that go beyond the walls of high school. Georgia United Nations Assembly (GUNA) is a simulation of the United Nations that aims to educate participants about civics, effective communication, globalization and, multilateral diplomacy. In GUNA, students take on roles as ambassadors and participate in a simulated session of an intergovernmental organization. Participants research a country, investigate international issues, debate, deliberate, consult, and then develop solutions to world problems. During a simulation they must employ a variety of communications and critical thinking skills to defend and advance the policies of their resolution.
