Welcome to Woodland High School!Hello! I’m Amanda Erickson, and I’m thrilled to be teaching British Literature again this year. This marks my seventh year teaching British Literature, as well as my seventh year at WHS. With seven years of experience in education, I am deeply passionate about helping students reach their full potential and cultivating a lifelong love of learning.
I graduated from the University of Maryland University College (now UMGC) with a Bachelor's degree in English and from Concordia University, St. Paul with a Master's in Exercise Science. Additionally, I hold a graduate certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis from the University of West Florida. My teaching philosophy centers on creating a supportive and engaging environment that fosters creative thinking and encourages students to explore their interests beyond high school.
When I’m not in the classroom, I enjoy reading, crocheting, lifting weights, and spending time with my family. I’m always eager to bring real-world experiences into our lessons, as I believe that building strong relationships with my students is essential to their success. I am committed to making learning both enjoyable and meaningful.
Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or if there’s anything I can do to support your student’s learning journey. I look forward to a fantastic year ahead!
