REACH GA Scholarship
Realizing Educational Achievement Can Happen (REACH) Program
Henry County Schools is continuing (Year 6) the partnership with the Realizing Educational Achievement Can Happen (REACH) Program to provide scholarship opportunities to economically disadvantaged, academically promising Henry County 8th grade students. Henry County schools can have a maximum of eight (8) REACH Scholars each year. Potential HCS REACH GA Scholars must participate in an interview with a community member. REACH GA depends on a multi-tiered approach to supporting its scholars, inclusive of the following: Student Commitment, Parent or Guardian Commitment, Mentor Commitment, Academic Coach Commitment, Financial Scholarship, and Academic and Social Support. Upon successfully fulfilling all criteria until high school graduation, each scholar will receive $10,000 towards their college education.
Additional information on this amazing opportunity can be located on the following site: REACH GA
REACH Signing Day
During the fall of the school year, REACH Georgia is given statewide recognition through press releases, social media and occasionally live media coverage as new scholars are inducted into the program. During this weeklong event, the REACH Georgia staff will travel the state to welcome new students to the REACH Scholarship program by attending as many REACH signing ceremonies as possible. During the REACH signing ceremony, students and their families commit to satisfying the program requirements, graduating from high school, and enrolling and completing college. They sign contracts during this ceremonial occasion agreeing to uphold program requirements, much like athletic signing day ceremonies. Additionally, the REACH Signing Day ceremony is the perfect opportunity to engage community stakeholders and supporters.
