Internships/Summer Programs/Leadership ProgramsPre-college summer programs offer high school students a one- or multi-week “college” experience. Such programs allow students to live in a dorm and complete one or more rigorous classes. Today, pre-college summer programs are an increasingly popular option for students who are hoping to get a sense of what college is like. Essentially, pre-college summer programs allow you to test-drive college life. These programs not only teach you new information and skills, they can also make you a more attractive candidate for admission into your top-choice schools.Henry-Clayton Section of the National Council of Negro Women, Inc (NCNW) Youth CommitteeNCNW invites young ladies ages 12-18 to join the Henry-Clayton Youth Committee. Clayton State University will host our 12th Annual AmeriCorps Student Leadership and College Preparation Conference during the first week of April. Of course being a parent, I refer to the event as "Spring Break Camp" because students can participate the entire week of Spring Break from 8am-6pm! 🙂
CSU AmeriCorps Members facilitate the 5-Day Conference held each spring specifically for local high school students! I attached the registration form that outlines information about the event, please feel free to share the information and post it on your high school social media accounts. If you have any questions about the event, please contact Ashley Kekula at (678) 466-5433 or via email: AshleyKekula@clayton.edu.

Clayton State University’s College of Business has signed an agreement with the Center for Investment and Wealth Management at the University of California – Irvine’s Paul Merage School of Business to offer this residential financial literacy program. This weeklong program will bring underserved students going into either 9th or 10th grade to Clayton State’s campus for a week. During the week, students will stay on campus in the dorms and attend sessions that prepare them for college and become the first in their families to earn a degree. The schedule the students will participate in includes visits to corporations, an etiquette luncheon, and many different speakers from all professions coming in to inspire the students. The week will culminate with the students presenting their LIFEplan--plans and budgets for their future that they will have put together during the duration of the week. We are very excited to start this program for the Summer 2022!
Please feel free to send the below information out to your students who might be interested in participating. Summer 2022 is going to be girls only, summer 2023 will be boys only.
