Henry County Schools Superintendent Search – July 2024

The Henry County Board of Education at a special called meeting on July 22 announced Dr. John Pace III as the sole finalist to serve as the district’s next Superintendent. The five-member board voted unanimously for Dr. Pace, who currently serves as Deputy Superintendent for Miami-Dade County Public Schools in Florida, as the finalist to lead Georgia’s eighth-largest school district. Following a 14-day waiting period required by Georgia law, the board will vote to confirm the appointment and set the new Superintendent’s start date and contract.

Henry County Board of Education Chair Sophe Pope provides an update to the community during the July 15, 2024, Study Session of the BOE.
As you all know, we have partnered with GSBA for this search. The board is in the middle of the interview process now. As updates become available, we will remain committed to informing you every step of the way. But, just rest assured that we are working very thoroughly and expeditiously to appoint our next superintendent of Henry County Schools. And as always, we are so grateful for the continued support and commitment from our entire community as we move forward. We are extremely hopeful and excited for our future.
