Highlights
The following school highlights are just a few of the things that make Luella Elementary School an amazing place to learn and grow! These four items should allow you to see the rigorous learning, diverse experiences, and supportive culture that exists in our school. In Henry County Schools, we believe in giving every student a high quality, world-class education and we believe these highlights display our passion and commitment to do just that.
Student Outcomes
At Luella Elementary, we are in the pursuit of exceptional! On the most recent College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI), our total score increased a total of 25.1 points! We could not be more proud of the hard work of our students, teachers and families. We scored a 100.0, the highest possible score, on Closing Gaps, which is an indicator that displays that all student subgroups at Luella Elementary are making improvements in our school. We are extremely proud of this accomplishment. Another of our phenomenal component scores from the 2019 CCRPI was progress, where we scored a 97.9 out of 100 possible points.
The progress indicator displays how much growth our students demonstrated in English Language Arts and Math. Even though the state has not calculated a CCRPI score during the last two school years due to the pandemic, we have continued our pursuit of exceptional at Luella Elementary. Our teachers have continued their data-driven and passionate work of making learning happen at Luella Elementary. With your support, we look forward to being able to demonstrate continued excellence of our students in the future strategic plan metrics at the end of the 2022-2023 school year.
Student Opportunities
Here at Luella Elementary, we believe in our mission to nurture learners to exceed standards by working hand in hand. We provide a variety of academic opportunities for our students including exceptional student education services, a robust early intervention program, and small group gifted services. Teachers meet weekly in collaborative teams to disaggregate student data in order to provide opportunities for acceleration and remediation in a targeted small group setting. We also offer accelerated math for our 4th and 5th-grade students to challenge their skills and prepare them for advanced math courses at the middle and high school levels. We believe that all children are unique and learn at different rates and in different ways and we can’t wait to see the amazing things that our students accomplish and create this school year!Climate and Culture
At Luella Elementary, we believe in the power of Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS). Our students earn P.A.W.S. which stands for practice respect, act responsibly, work together, and stay safe, for their outstanding behaviors and actions at Luella Elementary. New for the 2021-2022 school year, we are excited to announce our PBIS Cub Store where students can purchase items using their rewards for phenomenal behavior displayed each day at school. Our students can buy books, school supplies, popits and more!
We also enjoy celebrating the hard work of our teachers and staff with days of celebration and eating together as a Luella Elementary family. We are thankful to have the chance to work with such a wonderful community and the best students and staff in Henry County!
Extracurriculars

The Georgia Student Health Survey is given to all k-12 students in Georgia in the spring of each school year. It is composed of a variety of questions that help our district better understand the student experience in our schools. The literacy information is calculated as the percentage of students reading on or above grade level determined by scores on the Milestones End-of-Grade assessments for 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade in English Language Arts. Each of these data components can be viewed for the previous three years. For more information about these measurements, please access the Luella Elementary School website.
