    Unit 1: Matter

STANDARD: S8P1   Obtain, evaluate, and communicate information about the structure and properties of matter.

ELEMENT: S8P1.c   Plan and carry out investigations to compare and contrast chemical (i.e., reactivity, combustibility) and physical (i.e., density, melting point, boiling point) properties of matter.

    LEARNING TARGETS:

    1. I can identify physical and chemical properties of matter. (Knowledge)
    2. I can compare and contrast chemical and physical properties of matter. (Reasoning)
    3. I can demonstrate/prove/model that changing the physical properties of matter does not change the identity of the substance. (Reasoning)
    4. I can plan and carry out investigations to compare and contrast chemical and physical properties of matter. (Skill)
    5. I can communicate data from investigations to provide evidence of chemical and physical properties of matter. (Product)
