Philosophy
The guidance program will be developmentally appropriate and adjusts with student and school needs. The program will be coordinated and evaluated by the counseling department while working in conjunction with parental and community stakeholders. To monitor student competencies and program objectives, ongoing data is collected and evaluated by team members. The data is used to plan/adjust guidance activities and formulate concrete goals. The counselors at ARMS believes that:
*All students have the right to receive counseling and guidance services that will contribute to their personal and academic growth.*Every student should have an opportunity to achieve academic success regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, physical abilities, religious views, or socioeconomic status.
*All students will embrace the notion of being career and college ready.
*All parents and students are responsible for monitoring various educational progress with the assistance from the counseling department.
*Data should be collected and used to identify the needs of our students.
All students have access to a state certified, master’s degree (or higher)-level school counselor to deliver the school counseling program.
