    7th grade ELA Syllabus: Syllabus

     

    Biography

    Dr. Smith is an English teacher at Austin Road Middle School. He provides school-wide reading interventions and blended instruction using the Read 180 Universal program. Dr. Smith is a first-generation college graduate; earning his Bachelor of Science degree in three years from Clayton State University in Morrow, Georgia. He also earned a Master of Science in Education from Canisius College in Buffalo, New York, Educational Specialist degree from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and doctorate in educational leadership from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia.

    He began his teaching career as a Graduate Teaching Associate at the University of New Orleans and Instructional Assistant at McDonogh #35 Senior High School in New Orleans, Louisiana. Most recently, Mr. Smith taught 2nd and 4th grade at a Title I elementary school in Decatur, Georgia. He is certified in Educational Leadership - Tier II, Middle Grades Language Arts (4-8), Special Education/Early Childhood Education (P-5), and Health & PE (P-12).
