• Hello Scholars, Parents & Friends of Austin Road Middle School,

My name is Ms. Holloway and I am the new clinic aide here at ARMS. My experience reflects six years plus of working with children of all ages with mental, behavioral, and physical challenges medically. Holding a holistic philosophy, I believe that every aspect of our scholars should be fostered, which is why it is my goal to ensure that each child’s physical and mental wellness is fostered at ARMS.

I am happy to call Austin Road Middle home and I am also undeniably ready to serve this school, the scholars, and the surrounding community in any way possible.

    How Clinic Aides Serve?

Through my position, we determine scholars' health status upon arrival at the clinic, provide appropriate care and referral if necessary and assist students with health, hygiene, and other personal needs. Not only do we notify site administrator at once if an emergency situation exists, but we also follow district procedures as contained in the Clinic Aide Procedure Manual and the Healthy Student Protocol. Although we are not certified nurses, we do assist with routine health screenings, administer medications and perform selected health procedures per established guidelines. When needed, we also make referrals to the school nurse, school social worker, guidance counselor, administrator, school staff, and community agencies. On a daily basis, we document all health services provided, maintain the clinic supply inventory, and ensure that all health needs are met.
