Greetings ARMS nation, my name is Latisha Benefield. . I have a B.S. in Counseling and Human Services from Point University, formerly Atlanta Christian College, Class of 2013. I have been in education in the Henry County school District , and Austin Road Middle School for 4 years. I have served as a substitute, and an Interrelated Paraprofessional for two years, working with General Education teachers in the subjects of Science and Social Studies. This is the second year that I have had the pleasure of serving as your  Graduation Coach here at ARMS.

I have been married to my best friend for 16 years this coming October. I am the mother of 3 amazing kids, a 21-year-old proud alumni of Austin Road Middle and Stockbridge High School. I have two amazing daughters, a 10th grader who attends Woodland High School and is a member of the Junior Varsity and Varsity softball teams, and HOSA, the Health Care Science Organization and an Honor Student. An 8th grader who is a cheerleader, a member of the Beta Club, volleyball team, a member of our young ladies leadership program C.A.K.E  as well as a PBIS Ambassador for our very own Mighty Jaguars!!!! 

I have a longstanding relationship and commitment to the Stockbridge Community. I am not only a part of it, but I believe in it. This year I look forward to serving YOU: our students,  families, our awesome teachers and staff, and our courageous administration.  WE DO IT BETTER TOGETHER!!!! My goal is that our scholars here at ARMS have a successful transition into and out of Middle School, and that they are prepared for college and the workplace.

  If your scholar needs additional support academically, please reach out to me. I will communicate what  in-house opportunities are available on our campus. Teachers by grade level and subject have certain days they offer tutoring. Weekly by grade level, as the Graduation Coach, students have the opportunity to participate in working lunch to complete missing assignments. And finally, Henry County Libraries, our  Fairview location, has partnered with Tutor.com to provide free tutoring remotely  M-F daily from 2:00 PM until 10:00 PM. The only requirements are that students have an active library card that can also be obtained online. https://henrylibraries.org/
