Strategic Planning is a process that is based upon the decisions and actions that shape and guide what the school district is, does, and why it does it. It requires broad-scale information gathering, explores alternatives for improvement initiatives, and emphasizes the future. The goal of strategic planning is to develop a written document that established tangible goals and provides direction to the district.
In its Operating Principles, the SCSD 1 Board of Trustees has committed to the concept of defined autonomy for the daily operation of the school district.
