    Notice of Awards Day Changes

    Dear Jaguar Family:

It is Austin Road tradition to recognize the students who are “Exceeding Expectations Everyday”. I am writing to share with you the recent changes to the Austin Road Awards Day Ceremony schedule. In the past, students were recognized for their accomplishments in the months of December and May. However, in wake of recent changes with Henry County Schools grading policy expectations, there will be only one Awards Day Ceremony held in May 2015. Students will now be graded on a cumulative grading scale versus their grade being finalized at semester’s end. Hence, whatever the student’s average is at the end of the first semester, he or she will continue with that grade during the second semester of the 2014-2015 school year.

Because of our commitment to celebrating the successes of our students, we will have a “Principal’s Pride Award Social”. During this social those students invited to attend will have an opportunity to be recognized for their efforts and academic accomplishments during the first half of the 2014-2015 school year. Please note that this event will be invite only and it is our intent for only students to attend. It will also afford us the opportunity to remind all students of the academic expectations that must be maintained in order to not only sustain, but further their current level of success. Information regarding our Awards Day Ceremony will be forwarded to you at a latter point during the second semester.

Our mission here at ARMS is to develop a nurturing school community that encourages academic success for each student through a rigorous curriculum and extracurricular opportunities supported by dedicated teachers and staff.  Your child is an intricate part of our community, and their academic success is at the forefront of all that we hope to accomplish during their time with us. Please see our school’s contact information below, and please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions and/or concerns.

    Sincerely,

    Mr. Gabriel Wiley
