AP US History

  • AP U.S. History is a yearlong course that focuses on an examination of American history from Pre-Columbian America to the early 21st century. This course is designed to provide a college-level experience and preparation for the AP Exam in May. Emphasis is placed on interpreting documents, developing knowledge of history, and writing critical essays. This course will fulfill the United States History graduation requirement.

    The course will emphasize a series of key themes throughout the year. The themes are:

    • American and National Identity
    • Politics and Power
    • Work, Exchange and Technology
    • Culture and Society
    • Migration and Settlement
    • Geography and the Environment
    • America in the World
