     Hours of Operation
    The media center hours are 8:25 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on school days.

    Library Etiquette

    Following simple rules make everyone's visit to the media center more enjoyable and more productive. Here are the basic rules for the library:

    • Students entering the media center during class time must have a school pass.
    • Students must enter the Media Center quietly. 
    • Students are not allowed to have food, drinks, or gum in the media center.
    • Students must push all chairs in, pick up all material and place it in the proper area before leaving.

    SCHEDULE
    Austin Road Middle features an "open-access" media center.  Students may come to the media center at any time -- individually, in small groups, or with their entire class to check out and return materials, to read for pleasure or information, or research topics for reports, using a variety of resources.

    Checkout
    The following are policies regarding checkout:  

    • Students must have an ID number/lunch number to check out material.
    • Books are checked out for ten school days.
    • Students may check out a maximum of two books.
    • The fine for overdue books is ten cents per day per book.
    • Reference materials may not be checked out.

    Computer Use
    There are fourteen computers for student use in the media center. The following are the policies regarding student use of media center computers:

    • Students must sign-up to use computers at the circulation desk.
    • The student is responsible for all activity at the computer while computer is being used.
    • When using the Internet, the following policies and restrictions apply to all students:

      • No inappropriate web sites.
      • No game sites.
      • No chat rooms.
