About Dr. Stephanie Ricks

Dr. Ricks received a Bachelor of Science in Speech Communications and Theater with an emphasis in Mass Communication from Tennessee State University in Nashville, TN, a Master of Arts in Communication Arts with an emphasis in Corporate Communication from Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN, and a Doctor of Education degree in Leadership and Professional Practice from Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, TN.

After working in corporate (Sales and Marketing) for a short time, she started working in higher education in 2007 where she has led institutional functions in enrollment management, including graduate admissions, financial aid, and the Office of the Registrar. She also held positions as a full-time instructor of mass communication and University Registrar at HBCUs.

Currently, Dr. Ricks is a REALTOR in Georgia where she helps families build wealth and legacy by establishing a diverse property portfolio.  She also has the CEO of White Ricks Legacy Group (Real Estate) and has a real estate school that is approved by the Georgia Real Estate Commission.  The school teaches the Salesperson Pre-License Course and CE courses for real estate agents.  In addition, she teaches mass communication at a university in Georgia.

She is the author of The Prayers of a Single Woman and Finding ME Through Lupus, the founder and executive director of The Ricks Shaw Promise, a nonprofit organization that promises to provide funds towards the first year of tuition and fees for first-generation, underserved, minority students.  This organization gave out its first book scholarship on June 20, 2019.  

In the past, Dr. Ricks worked in independent filmmaking where she has written screenplays, created script breakdowns, casted talent, and adapted books for the purposes of screenplay writing.  She has also directed and produced a documentary - Business Over Illness.  Her writings can also be found in Encouraging Words: Faith in God's Love & Healing Power, Volume 1 and 3.  In addition, she has been the Video-Marketing Strategist and keynote speaker for The Take Heart Conference and Next Level Conference.

Dr. Ricks lives in McDonough, GA with her handsome son, Delton.
