    George R.R. Martin

About me: I was born and raised in Henry County, and I am an alumnus of Locust Grove High School. After high school graduation, I attended Gordon State College where I received my Bachelor’s degree in Literature and my certification to teach in secondary education. I plan to pursue my Master's degree in the near future.  I have a passion for teaching and connecting with young adults, and I knew from day one that I wanted to follow this passion in my hometown. This will be my second year at Eagle's Landing and I am blessed to say that I also coach two sports. My hobbies and interests include cheerleading, gymnastics, reading, and traveling. I have provided pictures and more in-depth descriptions of my interests at the end of this webpage if you are interested!

    Tutoring hours:

Because I coach two sports year-round, tutoring must be upon request. Mornings work best for me, but if I know in advance I can try to also plan tutoring sessions on Tuesday afternoons. Please try to let me know the day before your desired tutoring session so I can plan accordingly. Thank you for understanding!

    Cheer

Above is a picture of me competing at the GHSA State Cheerleading Championships with a broken arm during my junior year of high school. Our team placed top 5 out of 80+ teams in our division.
    LGHS Cheer
I started cheering when I was five years old, and from ages 5-18 I cheered Varsity Football/Competition. I cheered for both school and all-star teams.
    Paris
My family did not travel much when I was growing up. Until I was 18 I had only been to Georgia, Tennesee, Alabama, and Florida. During my sophomore year of college, I had the opportunity to go on a study abroad to study Spanish. I accepted the opportunity and lived in Barcelona for a summer. While I was living in Spain I also lived my lifelong dream (at the time) and went to Paris to see Notre-Dame and the Eiffel Tower.
    Paris

After my experience with my study abroad, I knew that I had a passion for traveling the world. Since my study abroad I have traveled to New York, North Carolina, Ireland, London, Greece, Italy, Haiti, Jamacia, Mexico, The Cayman Islands, The Bahamas, France, and Barcelona. I plan to travel to Thailand, Indonesia, and Austraila next.

    Graduation
When I was growing up I HATED reading! But, when I was in 8th grade the Twilight series came out and I joined the bandwagon and I fell in love with the books. After reading the series I wanted to keep reading. I would sit in the Young Adult section at Books a Million for hours looking for good books to read. Reading is now one of my favorite hobbies and my goal this year is to teach my students the love of reading and show them that it can be enjoyable. I will be piloting "Book Love" in my classroom this year and I could not be more excited to begin this journey with my students.
    Gymnastics

Once I graduated high school I missed cheerleading a great deal. When I was in college I started applying at different all-star cheerleading gyms around HCO and got hired at World Extreme as a gymnastics coach. I quickly realized that I loved gymnastics just as much as I loved cheerleading. I accepted a job offer last school year as one of the gymnastics coaches here at ELHS. This school year I will be coaching gymnastics again, as well as Varsity Football/Competition cheerleading.
