Dr. Tarleton, 7th Grade Counselor

Hello parents, students, families and community members. I am so happy to be a part of the Mustang family (my 2nd year) here at Ola Middle School. Prior to coming here I worked for 6 years at Talbot county schools. I was a professor in the classroom for over 20 years. I have a strong background in Mental Health and school counseling. I completed my undergraduate degree in psychology at Georgia College and State University. I then went on to study at Georgia State University where I earned my Master’s degree in Counseling after which I attended the Georgia School of Professional Psychology earning both a Master’s in Clinical Psychology and finally a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology.
I believe in the strength of each student to achieve their goals in life. Some of my favorite motivational quotes are:
- “All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.” —Walt Disney
- “The secret of getting ahead is getting started.” —Mark Twain
- “I’ve missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life, and that is why I succeed.” —Michael Jordan
- “Don’t limit yourself. Many people limit themselves to what they think they can do. You can go as far as your mind lets you. What you believe, remember, you can achieve.” —Mary Kay Ash
I look forward to meeting each of you. Please contact me by email or phone if I may be of assistance.
Thank you.
