• Mrs. Tangi Gantt

Hello, my name is Tangi Gantt, and I am entering my 21st year as a school counselor.  I was born and raised in Carson, California and currently reside in Mcdonough, Ga with my husband Floyd and our beautiful daughters Chloe Parker and Charli Araya.  I earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology /Social Work from Florida A & M University and continued my education at Clark Atlanta University, earning a Masters' Degree in Counseling and Psychological Services. I am also co-founder and Executive Director of a 22-year-old non-profit organization, All Grown Up, Inc. that mentors and cultivates pre-teen and teen girls in 4th -12th grade.

Like most other school counselors, I support several events throughout the school year, such as Red Ribbon Week, PAC (perfect attendance celebrations), Career Day, Kindness Week, monthly counseling core curriculum lessons, Character Education, small groups, student of the month luncheons, and numerous other activities.  Some of my professional affiliations include:  American Counseling Association, Atlanta Business Women’s Association, Jack and Jill of America, Inc., and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated.  My hobbies include jewelry making, mentoring teen females, traveling, reading, spending time with my daughters and worling out.

My Counseling Approach- The student deserves the right to be heard and understood. It is my responsibility to help your child overcome his or her challenges by using personal strengths and problem-solving skills. When students leave my office, they will have a greater sense of self worth and acceptance.

I believe “Success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life… as by the obstacles which he or she has overcome while trying to succeed.”  Booker T Washington

I look forward to a new and exciting school year! If I can be of any assistance to you, please don't hesitate to call me at 770.707.1469 or email me at tangi.gantt@henry.k12.ga.us.  Thank you for your continued support of children and all of their endeavors.
