1) Praise your child's effort and persistence on difficult tasks: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NWv1VdDeoRY

2) Help your child embrace failures/mistakes as learning experiences

3) Reinforce the concept of "YET!" - If your child feels like he/she is not good at a certain subject or is not understanding a concept being learned in class, remind him/her that he/she just hasn't mastered it...YET! With hard work and practice, growth will occur.
