    Overview:

The Naval Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (NJROTC)

Warhawk Battalion at Henry County High School in McDonough, GA is not only the oldest unit but also one of the most decorated in Henry County.

In the last 20 years the unit has been selected as a Distinguished Unit 19 times and achieved Unit Achievement twice, for performing in the top 20% of over 600 NJROTC units nation-wide.

In the past 5 years we have had 8 cadets gain entrance into United Service academies while others have gone on to attend schools such as; University of Georgia, Georgia State, Morehouse, Spelman, Savannah State, Alabama A&M, Georgia Southern, Gordon College and many others.

The unit consists of a wide variety of activities so that each cadet can find their own area of interests and exploit their talents; be it Drill Team, Color Guard, Rifle Team, Drone Team, Academic Team, and our Orienteering Team which are 5-peat Interscholastic National Champions after our latest victory in Boston during April 2018.

The unit also stresses the importance of community involvement, including such worthwhile causes as the annual Veteran's Day Parade, Christmas Canned Food Drive, Christmas Parade, and service projects for Heritage Park Veteran's Memorial, American Cancer Society Relay for Life and "Hands-on-Henry" Community Clean-up, and Noah’s Ark.

Other events, such as the Military Ball and county-wide Pass and Review highlight the unit locally while other trips such as an overnight trip to Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, South Carolina expose the cadets to numerous historical national landmarks.

    Warhawk Battalion Mission:

Create motivated leaders that uphold Warhawk standards, are involved in their community and value learning to become the best citizens they can.
