Degrees and Certifications:

Mr. Donald Watkins, Jr.

My name is Mr. Donald Watkins, Jr. and I am a proud teacher of the Social Studies department here at The McDonough High School. I am from Warner Robins, GA. After graduating from Warner Robins High School, I attended college at Trinity International University in Deerfield, IL where I majored in Psychology, with an emphasis in Counseling and earned a minor in Communications. I was also blessed to be a collegiate athlete, competing in basketball. After graduating college and working two years in the insurance industry, I made the marvelous decision to begin my teaching journey. At MHS, I have the wonderful opportunity to teach World History, while for extracurricular activities, I am tasked with being Assistant Coach for the MHS Varsity Basketball Team and PA Announcer for the MHS Varsity Football Team. In my free time, I like to spend time with my wife, travel, go bowling, and watch sports.

My philosophy of education is that all children are unique and must have a stimulating educational environment where they can grow physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially. It is my desire to create this type of atmosphere where students can meet their full potential. I will provide a safe environment where students are invited to share their ideas and take risks.
