What are The Grove Players?

• The Grove Players is Union Grove High School’s Drama club! We are an organization for anyone and everyone who is interested in theatre, music, art, film, production, or any form of fine arts! Once a month we gather to play games, plan events, work on our current show, and have fun together.

Who can join?

• Anyone with any level of interest in theatre can join. We welcome all!

When and where are meetings?

• Meetings are usually held on the second Tuesday of every month, after school from 3:30-4:30 in the Drama room.

How do I join?

• Come to a meeting! Your first meeting is free. If you are interested in “officially” joining, there is a $25 activity that is required. This fee includes a club t-shirt.

What is the International Thespian Honor Society?

• Thespian Society is an internationally recognized honor society for students who demonstrate a high level of commitment to theatre arts. You must earn “points” through performances and production work on The Grove Players shows. If you are invited to join the honor society, you will be asked to pay a $35 induction fee that goes directly to the International Thespian Society. Active members of our thespian troupe are eligible to serve as officers of The Grove Players, attend the Georgia Thespian Conference each February, and earn cords at graduation.

What’s the difference between Drama Club and Thespian Society?

• While we do run the two organizations together as “The Grove Players”, the drama club is open to anyone at any time. The Thespian Society is a special distinction that students can earn after demonstrating strong commitment to the drama program.
