Stan Kramer is Director of Bands at Union Grove High School a position that he has held since the school’s opening in August of 2000.  Prior to his tenure at Union Grove High School, Mr. Kramer served as Assistant Director at Jonesboro High School in Jonesboro, Georgia and Director at Burke County Middle School in Waynesboro, Georgia.  Mr. Kramer is a native of Clayton County Georgia and a graduate of Morrow High School in Morrow, Georgia.  Mr. Kramer received his Bachelors of Music Education degree from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina and has completed coursework towards a Masters Degree in the areas of Music Education and Administration/Supervision at the State University of West Georgia.  Mr. Kramer oversees the organization and administration of the band program at Union Grove High School and conducts the Symphonic Band 1, Symphonic Band 2, Concert Band, percussion ensemble, jazz band and the Marching Wolverines.  The Union Grove High School Band has grown from its original 63 members in August 2000 to as many as 207 members and has established itself as a superior program through its consistent superior ratings at concert and marching band festivals and competitions. 

       In addition to his responsibilities at Union Grove, Mr. Kramer has worked for over 20 years at various summer camps and has served as clinician and adjudicator in Georgia and South Carolina.  Mr. Kramer’s past and present professional affiliations include Music Educators National Conference, National Association of Music Educators, International Association of Jazz Educators, Georgia Music Educators Association, International Trumpet Guild, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia professional music fraternity.  As a trumpet player, Mr. Kramer has performed with The Ringling Brothers-Barnum and Bailey Circus; musical artists including The Temptations, The O’Jays, Mel Torme, Shirley Jones, Pat Boone, Marvin Hamlisch, the Boys Choir of Harlem, Larnell Harris, South Carolina Philharmonic Orchestra, the Columbia Brass Band, the Atlanta 17 and currently performs with the Tara Winds adult community band and with numerous other community and professional groups in the Metro Atlanta, Georgia area.  Mr. Kramer lives in McDonough with his wife Lesley and his step-children Katherine and Jeffrey.
