Greetings! My name is Coach "JT" Thomas and I am excited for another year at THE McDonough High. I'm ready to jump in and assist with molding the great minds of our future. I believe there are many great things happening within our walls and I hope you do as well. My goal is to prepare each student for their endeavors after high school by empowering them to understand and exceed expectations set for them. I strongly believe that a large percentage of success and failure lies within the way an individual carries himself and how he communicates. I want your child to be strong in both aspects. The world and everything it has to offer is yours. All you have to do is believe.

When I'm not in the classroom you can also catch me around the building recruiting anyone who is willing to represent this school and community to participate in our female sports programs. I am the head coach for McDonough Hawkette Lacrosse and McDonough Lady Hawk Flag Football. In 2019, our lacrosse team made local and national headlines by becoming Georgia's first minority program to reach the playoffs in the history of lacrosse in Georgia. This same team went on to produce several nationally ranked players and a player that participated on Team Georgia in a national event. Our Girls Flag Football team made an impressive run throughout the county as well during their inaugural season by earning a spot in the playoffs in 2020. We would love to continue building on the winning tradition we have established in both programs.
