    Is Work-Based Learning for you?

Work-Based Learning (WBL) is a school-based program that allows students to earn school credit for their part-time job. Students can leave school early and report to work.  This is NOT an early release program.

What you will want to know:

    • You must apply to be in WBL.

    • Students must have a job by the first day of school.

    • Most students in WBL have a part-time job that is related to their CTAE pathway AND career goal.

    • You must be on track to graduate.

    • Your attendance and discipline record will be considered for acceptance into the program.

    • The number of periods you are released from school depends on what courses you need to meet your graduation requirements.

    • If you are accepted into WBL, you will be expected to attend regular meetings, complete assignments and meet all other requirements for WBL. Your grade will be based on your commitment to WBL and how you meet the course requirements.
