The Henry County HS Prancing Warhawks was formed in 2017 at the request of students who were interested in dance. The team name would later become the McDonough High School Prancing Hawkettes.
Over the years, the program has grown and now is a part of the Mighty Marching Wahawks Marching Band. The team supports the varsity football, girls and boys varsity basketball teams occasionally, as well as performing at various events during the school year.
Team members are governed by its rules regarding eligibility, tryout procedures, game conduct, dress, and sportsmanship. We also adhere to the Henry County Schools Code of Conduct policies.
Technical training (ballet, contemporary, jazz, lyrical, hip-hop and majorette style) is necessary since the team’s focus is choreography.
The Fabulous Hawkette Flag Girls, formerly known as the Color Guard, are also a part of the Mighty Marchiing Warhawks. The Fabulous Hawkettes are a team of performers who perform choreographed dances and routines spinning flags to enhance and interpret the music of the marching band show.
The Golden Hawks Competition Dance Team, which is a competitive dance Team which competes in GHSA regional and state competitions.
