My name is Meribeth Morris and I am excited to be your EIP teacher. It is going to be a fun year full of lots of learning and new adventures, cannot wait to see what the year has in store for us.
I want to know ALL about you, but first I am going to tell you a few things about me. I was born and raised in South Dakota, where I started my education in a two room country school. After high school I attended Northern State College. I married my high school sweetheart in 1987 and we moved to North Carolina where I completed college at East Carolina University. We made Georgia our home in 1991 and I completed my Masters Degree at Piedmont College. I am the proud mother of two children children; Samantha and Eric. We have a boxer named Tyson who thinks he is our third child!
This is my 28th year of teaching and I have been at DES since we opened. I have served students across multiple grade levels at DES. I was honored to be named Teacher of the Year at Stockbridge Elementary for the 2003-2004 school year and Teacher of the Year at Dutchtown Elementary for the 2017-2018 school year.
During this time of remote learning, we will have EIP classes scheduled Monday -Thursday at a set time to create a routine for the students that will continue once we return to the school building. Please do not hesitate to contact me at any time if you have any questions.
I am excited to be your teacher! This is going to be a fabulous year in EIP!!!!
