    Luella High School 

     

    Mission:

    The Student Government Association at Luella High School is committed to representing the student body to administration, faculty, and staff in order to discuss matters of general concern, present proposals, and promote school spirit through programs, activities, and resolutions.

     

    As the elected representative of the Student Body, Student Government Association shall:

    • Promote a greater degree of unity, respect, spirit, and cooperation among students, faculty, staff, and administration.
    • Offer and oversee activities for furthering the academic, social, and spiritual growth of the student body.
    • Provide a democratic and representative forum through which students may address school-related issues affecting the student body.
    • Represent to the faculty and administration the concerns of the student body regarding academic and disciplinary policies.
    • Consult with appropriate policy-making administrators regarding school policies and guidelines.

    Student Government Officers' Role & Responsibilities-

    President:

    • Presides over meetings of the organization
    • Appoints committee chairpeople
    • Maintains contact with organization sponsor
    • Represents the organization to the School
    • Serves as a spokesperson
    • Organizes community service projects & school-spirit events
    • Provides encouragement and motivation to fellow officers and organization members

    Vice President: 

    • Assumes the duties of the President in his or her absences
    • Assists the President in appointing and organizing events
    • Organizes an end-of-year celebration
    • Performs duties as directed by the President

    Treasurer: 

    • Works closely with advisor concerning financial records
    • Maintains financial records of fundraising or community events
    • Serves as chair of the finance committee 
    • Advices the organization on financial matters (i.e. vendors, ticket selling procedures)
    • Performs duties as directed by the President
    • Assumes duties of Secretary in his or her absence

    Secretary: 

    • Maintains meeting notes and attendance records 
    • Notifies members of meetings
    • Works with the President to create Meeting Agendas
    • Performs duties as directed by the President

    Public Relations:  

    • Serves as chair of communication concerning up-coming events
    • Maintains SGA's Google Site with updated information and appropriate media
    • Performs duties as directed by the President
