Teacher Biography:
Mr. Lake (aka) Coach Jeff Lake was born in Glassboro New Jersey. He has worked in the field of Education and Youth Development for 25 years in different states such as New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Georgia. He has served as a Director of Afterschool Programs, Program Director, Youth Advocate, Youth Development Specialist, Academic Counselor, Health and PE Director and Teacher. Mr. Lake has coached for over 20 years as a Youth and High School Coach. Coaching such sports as Football, Track, Basketball, Soccer, Tennis and Wrestling.
In New Jersey he coordinated the “Gary Brackett Football Camp” which was sponsored by Gary Brackett Former NFL Line Backer and Defensive Captain for the, “Super Bowl Champions-Indianapolis Colts”. He coordinated and supervised the camp for ten years which was a community Football Camp for the Tri-State area (Philadelphia, Delaware, and New Jersey) athletes ages 8-18. The camp was free and it serviced over 5,000 young men. Some of the success stories who attended the camp was Baltimore Raven's Running Back Cory Clement, New Orleans Saints Wide Receiver Juwan Johnson, and former New Orleans Saints Defensive End George Johnson. Coach Lake was inducted into the Glassboro High School Hall of Fame for football in 2006. He was also given a Community Service Award from the Glassboro Youth Football Program in January 2018 for his commitment to his community. The year 2023 marks the “3rd Annual Youth Football Camp for Luella High School” as Coach Lake continues to serve the surrounding communities (Henry County, Clayton County, etc). Coach Lake was also nominated for “Henry County Male Coach of the Year 2023”.
Coach Lake has a B.A, which consists of a major in Law & Justice, a minor in Psychology and a concentration on Social Justice. He also has a Master’s of Business Administration. This will be Coach Lakes' sixth year at Luella High School as a Social Studies Teacher. He has taught Health & PE, Psychology, Sociology and Geography, World History, and Economics/Government. He has a passion for mentoring young men and working with all youth. He has three daughters (Ambrial, Quiera, Charli) and one son (Aaron). He is proud to be a part of the Luella family and wants to help support and serve the school and surrounding community.
