Mrs. Lisa Lanning

Hello and Welcome to our DES family... I am looking forward to teaching your child this coming school year and look forward to partnering with you to help your child become the best that he or she can be.  I have been in the Preschool Special Needs classroom for 25 years.

In this time, I have completed my Bachelor's degree in Health and Human Services Management and completed my Master's Degree in Special Education and  Adapted Curriculum from Valdosta State University. I have invested my life in your child and your families. Our classroom expectations are very high and our goal is to create a very independent child. Once you become a part of our family, you are our family forever. 

I am the mother of two adult sons. I am very proud of them both. Michael, my youngest married in August, 2024. 

I am married to a wonderful man. We were both given second chances at love and feel very blessed. He has a nursing home ministry. 

We have been married for 15 years. I have been a resident of Georgia for 38 years. I was born in Long Island, New York, and raised in Michigan. You can say I have traveled. My dream is to take a trip to Israel. 

Ms. Byers is happily married and has 2  adult sons, she loves our children like her own. She was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA.

Ms. Byers, and I are excited to educate your child, and will celebrate their progress throughout this new school year.
