    National Spanish Honors Society 2020-21

    Chapter: Papel Picado 
     
    The National Spanish Honors Society is an academic honors group for students interested in a life long pursuit of the Spanish and/or Portuguese language.There are currently 2,000 national and international chapters. Luella HS chapter is named Papel Picado after the traditional paper artwork popular in many hispanic countries.
     

    Students must be in their second semester of the second year in the language or higher and maintain a 3.0 average or higher in both the Spanish language class and other classes. Students should be of honest character, seriousness of purpose, cooperative, service-minded and keep commitments to others.

    Dues are $25 a year. You must complete a minimum of 10 community service hours. Currently will be meeting during the remote learning clubs and activities time set aside by the school administration, in additional to completing the community service hours.     I have my M.Ed. from Auburn University. I have been teaching Spanish at Luella HS for 14 years. I am from Mexico and S.D. California. I have lived in Mexico the majority of my adolecent years. I have studied at the University in Salamanca in Spain.  I look forward to a great and active Honors Society this year!
