"FFA is an intracurricular student organization for those interested in agriculture and leadership. It is one of the three components of agricultural education. FFA is not just for students who want to be production farmers; FFA also welcomes members who aspire to careers as teachers, doctors, scientists, business owners and more. Georgia FFA is the 3rd largest state association with more than 80,000 members. There are 391 chapters and nearly 600 agricultural education teachers in Georgia.

Students enrolled in an agricultural education class are members of FFA by default according to Georgia State Law; thus, are encouraged to pay their "FFA Dues" or activity fee (SB330). This helps subsidize the cost of trips and pays for meeting supplies and lab materials inside and outside of the class. Students that are not enrolled in an agricultural class are still able to join and participate in monthly meetings, career development competitions (CDEs and LDEs) , field trips, community events, and so much more!

Career opportunities abound within today’s agricultural industry. CDEs and LDEs help students develop the abilities to think critically, communicate clearly and perform effectively in a competitive job market.

Georgia FFA members have the opportunity to participate in CDEs & LDEs ranging from floral design and poultry judging  to soil evaluation and public speaking events" . Some events allow students to compete as individuals, while others allow them to compete in teams!"
