• Greetings OMS Scholars & Parents!

My name is Ms. Lindsey Jones. First, I want to give you all a warm southern welcome to my 7th grade social studies. Let me share a little about myself. I was born and raised in Georgia. I am a Henry County native. I graduated from high school at Luella High and obtained my Bachelor's degree in Biology from Albany State University, Go Rams! I am the oldest. I have a brother and two loving parents who have supported and guided me through my career journey as an educator.

I am very ecstatic to meet and work with you and your scholars this year to assist them with their full academic potential. I care a lot about academic growth, more than anything. My top priority this year with my scholars is to accelerate their academic strengths/weaknesses/skills at or above grade level. I plan to meet them where they are and work along with them throughout the school year to figure out other learning strategies that will work best to increase their academic level.

I am a big advocate when it comes to communication because I believe that having an open line of communication between the scholar, parent, and teacher helps allow opportunities to make adjustments or corrections if needed. I like to keep the parents and my scholars informed at all times of what will be learning/doing in the classroom. With that being said, I do check my email daily, so this would be the best and efficient way to reach me regarding questions, comments, or concerns you may have with your scholar throughout the school year. I will respond as promptly as I can, but I do ask that you give me at least 24–48 hours time-frame to receive a response from me. So, you don't ever have to worry about not getting a response from me, because I do want my scholars and their parents to know that I am here for you and their educational needs. You can email me at lindsey.jones@henry.k12.ga.us or call the school at 770-507-5407 to set up a parent/teacher conference.

In closing, I consider it to be a great privilege to be your child's 7th grade Social Studies teacher this school year. Parents, I am excited to work with you and your scholars to help achieve their educational goals and be the best scholar they can be.

Best wishes for another successful school year! Go Mustangs!

    Lindsey Jones
