Dear students,
I hope you have enjoyed your first few days of Ola Middle School. It is always exciting
starting a new school year. I am proud that you are a member of Team 603.
I would like to tell you more about myself. I was born in England on August 28, 1975. I
lived in England (I was a British citizen, who carried a “green” card, until 2003) for 11 years then
moved to Boston, Massachusetts. I then moved to Fayetteville, GA four years later, where I started
ninth grade at Fayette County High. I graduated from high school in 1993. I attended The State
University of West Georgia immediately following high school. I graduated from college in 1997, and
my first teaching job was at ELMS. Three years after my first teaching job (2000), I helped open
Luella Middle. Several years after graduating from college, I went back to get my master’s degree. I
then helped open Ola Middle. I have taught sixth and seventh grade math, social studies, reading, and
language arts. My favorite has been 6th grade language arts.
My parents, Andrew and Susan, live in Fayetteville. I have two younger sisters, Natalie and
Hannah. Natalie graduated from UGA and is now a pharmacist in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Hannah graduated with her teaching degree. She teaches kindergarten in Butts County. I live in
Locust Grove, so you might see me at the post office, grocery store, or gas station. I have been married
to my husband for 25 years. I enjoy traveling with him. We have two beautiful daughters, Annalie (20
years) and Olivia (19 years), and a son, Davis (14 years). All my children attend(ed) Ola schools. You may
even have a sibling who knows one of my children. Over the summer, my family and I went to the mountains. In my spare time, I like to read, shop, surf the Internet, and watch football - I am very involved with the Locust Grove Falcons Football league. I also like to watch Netflix movies and message friends. I really enjoy reading juvenile adult literature, so if you come across a new series please share it with me. I am currently reading adult mystery books that my sister passes down to me. I could spend hours (and a small fortune out of my own
wallet☹) looking over all the new books by various authors. My husband says I read too much, but I
don’t think that is possible. What do you think?
I have high expectations for my students and myself this school year. One of my rules to live
by this year is:
“Character is who you are when no one is watching”.
My other rule this year is:
“This too shall pass”.
Think about what rules you want to live by this year.
I am looking forward to a great year and I hope you are too!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Bell ☺
