Your child should stay home from school only if necessary!
The main reasons for your child to stay home are:
- Your child's illness might be contagious to others
- Your child is too sick to be comfortable at school or unable to concentrate
As a general rule, a child should not come to school if there is:
- Vomited in the past 24 hours
- A fever of 100.4 (orally) or greater in the past 24 hours
- Diarrhea in the past 24 hours
- A widespread rash
- Persistent pain
- A very frequent cough
A child with fever, vomiting or diarrhea should be free of symptoms for 24 hours, without the use of medicine, before returning to school.
The Principal should be notified in writing if a student ha a chronic illness or disability that could require special or emergency treatment.
DO NOT send any medications or cough drops to school with your child. All medication must be brought to school by an adult and a Student Health and Medical Authorization form must be completed before any medications can be given at school.
Please provide a written excuse to the school office for any absences the day the student returns from being out with medical or health issues.
