Services Provided
Individual Counseling
Is a process that enables a student to communicate his/her needs, explore feelings, understand self and others, and set goals toward becoming a productive individual.
Classroom Guidance
The counselor will conduct classroom guidance lessons on various age appropriate topics.
Small Group Counseling
The counselor will facilitate small groups on various topics related to student interest and needs. Group sessions are on-going for 4-6 rotating weeks. Group topics include: Anger Management, Friendship Skills, School Success, Self-Esteem, Divorce, Family Changes, Grief and Loss. Students must have parental permission to participate in small groups. (Referrals for outside counseling services are also available for children experiencing mental health concerns)
Conferences/Consultation
Counselors assist in sharing ideas and information to make decisions which facilitate growth for individual students. Examples include attending SST Meetings and parent/teacher conferences.
Coordination
The counselor will facilitate and organize activities and/or programs to meet the needs of the school or grade levels. Activities include: Career Exploration Day, Red Ribbon Week, Kindness, Pinwheels for Peace, Bobcats of the Month, No Place for Hate, Speak Up Be Safe, Mentors for Success
