Teacher Name: Coach Danna SeigleSchool Email Address: Danna.Seigle@henry.k12.ga.usSubjects I Teach: AP Calculus, Honors Pre-Calculus, and Honors Algebra II
For those who are curious, or just bored, here’s my bio…I attended Kittredge Magnet School for High Achievers—which was housed in Chamblee High School in DeKalb County, GA—and graduated in 1996. I then earned my Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Mathematics Education from THE University of Georgia (GO DAWGS!) in December of 1999. Since I graduated in the middle of a school year, I worked one semester in Gwinnett County and then moved to Salem High School in Conyers, GA. For my four years at SHS (2000-2004), I taught mostly Algebra II, Geometry, and Statistics, and also coached girls basketball. I worked with the girls soccer program for a couple of seasons, as well.
I left the teaching field in 2004 and began working in my family’s business, McMichael’s Construction Co., Inc., while my children were young. During those seven years, I gained an enormous amount of business knowledge and earned my LEED AP designation before feeling called back to teaching. In 2011, I returned to education and began teaching Math IV and Accelerated Math III (now called Pre-Calculus and Honors Pre-Calculus) here at Locust Grove High School. In 2012 I added AP Calculus to my schedule, and in 2019 added Honors Algebra II. I love my schedule, my students, and working at LGHS, and look forward to a fantastic 2021-22!I received my Master’s degree from Columbus State University (Curriculum & Instruction in Accomplished Teaching, with an emphasis on Gifted Education) in December 2012. I received my Gifted Endorsement from THE University of Georgia in August 2013.This will be my 5th year heading the Girls Soccer Program and I cannot wait to work with both new and returning athletes in the Spring (tryouts early January).- If you are interested in possibly playing SOCCER in 2021-22, please see me (girls) or Coach Wayne (boys) for more information. Girls can text @lggirls to 81010 to receive updates about SOCCER pre-season workouts and meetings before tryouts begin in January 2022.
When I’m not working, I’m usually working out, playing soccer, shuttling kids to practices, or reading (or eating if I'm being honest). My husband Andy and I will celebrate our 21st anniversary in November, and we have two daughters: McKay (sophomore at UGA) and Logan (sophomore at LGHS). We also have two rescue animals: a spoiled-rotten Boxer named Elliott (RIP Charlee) and a grey cat named Easy-E.-Seigle :)"Math Nerd for LIFE!""Is it Seigle-legal?"
