Dear LGHS Community,

I have had the unique pleasure of meeting with a vast majority of our teaching staff this summer as they have done some incredible work planning engaging lessons and completed units of study that focus on the breathe and depth of content.  Our focus for the 2018-19 school year will be unifying our community, strengthening our instructional practices, and ensuring a high performing learning environment for each student.  In many ways, Locust Grove High School has fundamentally changed the landscape of what an educational environment looks and feels like for our learners as they move toward becoming college, career, and life ready.  With the planning, preparation and devotion to our students and our community, this is shaping up to be a tremendous year for students and community members of Locust Grove.

Some things to keep in mind as we begin the new year:

• Student Computers will be disseminated within the first week of school. If you have not already done so, please be sure to create a My School Bucks account and sign the appropriate permissions.  (Insurance is available)
• Open House will be July 26^th from 1:00 to 3:00.
• If your student is interested in playing a sport, they must have a completed physical on file to try-out.

Last year, we designed the structure and tools necessary to provide a high quality and competitive education.  This year we continue to refine and perfect our practice as we implement rigorous units of study, push to deeper levels of learning, and encourage students to find their passion as they defend their work for mastery and course completion.  It is truly shaping up to be another amazing year, and we are very excited to welcome back your students in a few short days.
