Mrs. Shannon Edwards

Hello! I'm Mrs. Shannon Edwards, and I am a high school English teacher here at Locust Grove High School. 

I have taught for 18 years at both the middle and high school levels. My teaching experience began at the preschool level and I later taught two first year of college Compostion courses.  

I am originally from Birmingham, Alabama and attended Auburn University, graduating with a Bachelor's degree in English. I taught in Clayton County for two years after college, and then my husband and I relocated to Manchester, England for two years. Upon our return, I began teaching preschool at a local private school. During my time there, I earned my Master's degree in Teaching English. I am currently in graduate school to earn my MFA in Creative Writing. 

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, reading, playing video games, and playing with my dogs in our backyard. 

I love my job and working with students. I look forward to meeting you and know we will have an incredible year!
