• Graduation is a formal event! 

     The following clothing is not acceptable for your graduation ceremony.

    • Jeans
    • PJ's
    • Athletic Pants
    • Joggers
    • Shorts
    • Flip Flops
    • Slides
    • House shoes

    Dress for Ladies

    • Green gown, cap, tassel and stole: The cap is to be worn flat on the head with the point at the center of the forehead and tassel on the right side
    • Under-gown attire: Dress or slacks.  Any type of dress may be worn under the gown as long as it does not show below the gown.  If the dress shows, it should be a solid neutral color (beige, khaki, grey, navy blue, black, or brown).  Slacks should be dress slacks in a solid neutral color.
    • Shoes: Sandals, wedges, dressy boots, other dress shoes in neutral colors; no bright colors that may distract from the graduation regailia, no tennis shoes, no flip flops, and no house shoesShoes with heels higher than 3 inches will cause you to trip and fall because the field is soft and they will sink in. 

     

    Dress for Men

    • Green gown, cap, tassel and stole: The cap is to be worn flat on the head with the point at the center of the forehead and tassel on the right side
    • Under-gown attire: Dress slacks in a solid neutral color (beige, khaki, grey, navy blue, black, or brown).  White-collared dress shirt with a tie of any color (no bowtie);  or a collarless shirt/tee shirt.  The collarless shirt/tee shirt should be solid in color, with no writing or artwork.  A collarless shirt/tee-shirt cannot be visible when the graduate is wearing his gown.
    • Shoes: dress shoes or boots in a neutral color; no bright colors that may distract from the graduation regailia, no tennis shoes, no flip flops, and no house shoes.

     

    SENIOR DRESS FOR CEREMONY 

    • Graduates should arrive at specified time, dressed for the ceremony in cap, gown, tassel, stole, and correct under-gown attire and shoes. No senior will be permitted to march unless he/she is dressed appropriately for the ceremony.

     

    • Seniors may not alter their cap, gown, stole, tassel, or person with writing, decorations, drawings, etc. Only Academic regalia issued by Ola High School may be worn in the ceremony. 

     

    • Before entering the holding area, seniors will be checked by faculty for proper attire. Any inappropriate items found on the seniors will be confiscated.

     

    • A security officer will also be checking for seniors who appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol. No senior who is under the influence will be permitted to march.  Seniors can be pulled from the line up at any time.
