Tussahaw has a reputation of excellence. It is lucid through my interactions, that people are proud to be associated with Tussahaw Elementary.  We have a school culture focused on student learning, a commitment to high expectations, and innovation and collaboration. The partnerships that exist between the dedicated staff and the community are evident and play a pivotal role in responding to the needs of every child. I am excited to continue our positive school culture and build strong relationships with the students, staff, and the community. It is my desire to work collaboratively as a team to provide our students with the foundation for success. As Principal, my door is always open and everyone's input is welcomed.  Genuine collaboration fosters ownership of a rich school culture. Supporting our students to do well at school, and in their lives, is the center of our work.

Before coming to Tussahaw Elementary School, I worked as an assistant principal, literacy instructional lead teacher, and teacher in both middle and elementary settings. Having had the opportunity to teach in both settings, has given me an understanding of where students begin and what the expectations are once they leave elementary school.  I have also volunteered as a teacher in Peru, Japan, and Thailand during the summers to broaden my educational perspectives. These experiences have shaped my beliefs and philosophies of education.

This is a remarkable school, and it is a privilege to work with the students, staff, and the community. My goals for Tussahaw Elementary School are to provide a safe and supportive learning environment, engage students with an intellectually stimulating curriculum, and nurture our children to become lifelong learners. We believe that every child is worth the best!  Please feel free to contact me anytime.
