Go Grizzlies!

I have been teaching for 14 years and my previous career was in the school photography business. As your child's art teacher, I hope to instill in them a love of creativity and the courage to always use their imagination.  Art is fun, messy, and a great way to stretch those problem-solving skills.  Art is a reflection of life and love; it encompasses literature, math, social studies and of course some science (every tried color mixing paints?).  With the use of technology increasing in our every day lives, children especially struggle with crucial skills used in artmaking, such as critical thinking, fine motor skills, receiving & giving criticism, open discussions, and creativity. Facing a blank page and turning it into something beautiful can be a much more daunting task than swiping answer C on a tablet screen.

I grew up in Forest Park, in nearby Clayton County; and currently live in the Ola area of McDonough. I am married to my high school sweetheart and we have 3 awesome kids.  I love to travel, read, visit local and state parks, and go geocaching (Google it, it's a blast!).  I love animals, especially dogs and cats.  I dabble in photography and love all things Muppets and Dr. Seuss.
